Q. Tell us about City Buddha. What do you offer? What makes your store unique?

Larry: We have a large selection of Fair Trade Handicrafts and Fashion Accessories. A love of travel and aesthetics fostered our decision to open City Buddha. Rai and I travel to buy the things we sell here. We have the hip and the funky, the bold and the whimsical, as well as the just plain practical. We will easily bet you can’t find the things we have elsewhere, and especially at the big box places. Our prices can’t be beat as well.

Q. Why did you decide to open City Buddha on Coventry?

Larry: I grew up in Cleveland Heights. I hung out on Coventry as a youth and it’s still, as you can see, part of my composition! It felt natural coming back and opening a business here.

Q. Share a few unique gifts that shoppers can find at City Buddha this holiday season?

Larry: One of a kind glass bubble vases have been very popular. We have a wonderful and affordable collection of accessories for women and men, that people come from miles around to peruse. We also carry a very large and extensive array of greeting cards.

Our Holiday Season Kick Off Sale is happening this weekend (Friday, November 28th – Sunday, November 30th.) We’re offering 50% Off All Fashion Jewelry and 25% Off All Fine Silver.  To save you even more, there’s free parking all weekend in the garage located right next to City Buddha. No stress, no crowds, just peaceful consideration of you and those on your list.

Q. Where do you shop local? Tell us about your favorite local spots to shop, dine and relax when you’re not at City Buddha.

Larry: Rai is a wonderful cook. We tend to cook a lot with groceries we purchase from the West Side Market and Coit Road Farmers Market. When dining out, we frequent Americano and Pacific East. Rai likes to shop on the street. She’s a fan of Blush and Avalon Exchange. We make it a point to spend locally. We want to make sure we recycle economic prosperity in the area. Please consider doing your business with indie retailers this season. We are large part of what makes yours and your family’s neighborhood unique.

Thanks to Larry and Rai for taking the time to share with us. Be sure to stop by City Buddha this weekend to save big during their Holiday Season Kick Off Sale.

Check back here on Friday or become a fan of our Facebook page.

Every weekday this holiday season, we’re introducing you to the independent business owners that help make Coventry Village a great place to live, work, shop, dine and play.

Happy Thanksgiving from your friends in Coventry Village.
