Dr. U.R. Awesome, Bubble Blowing Guinness World Record Attempt Celebration in Coventry

Saturday | 12:00 PM–3:00 PM

Mayfield Heights resident Gary Pearlman has an awesome goal. Pearlman, also known as Dr. U.R. Awesome, will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Free Floating Soap Bubble Created Outdoors. He will do this in his hometown at sunrise, 6:29 a.m., on Sunday, April 27, at the Ross DeJohn Community Center, 6306 Marsol Road, Mayfield Heights. The public is invited to attend (if they can get up that early). The current record was set exactly one year prior to Pearlman's attempt by Megan Colby Parker of Plymouth, Mass., Parker will be in attendance for Pearlman's attempt. In honor of the Pearlman's attempt, Big Fun owner Steve Presser is hosting a pre-party, with both Pearlman and Parker displaying their bubble tricks, from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 26. Free bubbles will be given out to kids at the store. Following the Big Fun party, Pearlman will move up the street to Coventry Peace Park for a public practice from 2 to 3 p.m. "This is bubblicious!" exclaims Presser.
